Prepaid Wireless Service

Consumer Fraud

Many consumers choose to prepay (or pay “as you go”) for wireless phone service instead of signing a long-term contract.  While this can be a cost-effective option for some consumers, the savings may not add up for others – especially if they thought they were getting a better deal than they actually received.

Were you misled about the costs of your prepaid wireless service for any of the following reasons?

  • You had to pay for full months of service when your phone was only activated for a portion of the month
  • Your “unlimited” service was subject to hidden restrictions
  • Your minutes were calculated improperly or expired prematurely
  • You had to pay “junk” fees that were not disclosed or only disclosed in fine print
  • You had to pay premium charges for certain calls or services (text messaging)
  • You were promised a “free” second line, but your company charged you for use of that line

Our law firm is currently investigating the billing practices of a number of prepaid cell phone companies, and may be able to help.  If you believe that you were unfairly charged, please contact us to take action.
