Jacob T. Schutz

As a member of the firm’s ERISA litigation team, Jacob works to protect employees’ hard-earned retirement savings.  Focusing on class actions, Jacob represents current and former employees whose retirement accounts have been shortchanged due to excessive fees, imprudent investments, employer self-dealing, and general mismanagement.

Prior to joining Nichols Kaster, Jacob was an associate at a firm that served as general counsel to Taft-Hartley employee benefit funds. During law school, Jacob was a staff member and notes and comments editor of the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law, where his note on the association provision of the Americans with Disabilities Act was published in the spring of 2012. Jacob was on the Dean’s List all three years at law school and received two Faculty Book Awards given to the top-performing student in a course.
