Attorneys:

At NKA, we look for attorneys that are dedicated to fighting for employee rights.  Unlike many big firms, a new associate will play a very active role on cases from day one – for example many of our new associates write dispositive motions, take depositions, attend mediations, hearings and arbitrations, and trials.  While new associates are given these responsibilities very early on, they are also closely supervised by the partners and senior associates to ensure they are on the right track.

While we do not currently have any positions open, if you would like to submit a resume, please send it to:

Associate Positions:

At NKA, we look for attorneys that are dedicated to fighting for employee rights.  Unlike many big firms, a new associate will play a very active role on cases from day one – for example many of our new associates write dispositive motions, take depositions, attend mediations, hearings and arbitrations, and trials.  While new associates are given these responsibilities very early on, they are also closely supervised by the partners and senior associates to ensure they are on the right track.

There are no associate positions currently available.

Summer Program:

At NKA, we expect our law clerks to be integral parts of our litigation teams.  Our law clerks are given substantive projects from day one – for example, this summer several of our law clerks prepared initial drafts of memoranda in opposition to summary judgment motions, performed significant legal research relating to pending cases and legal investigations, interviewed potential clients and witnesses, assisted with trial preparation, as well as attended depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations and trials.

While law clerks are given responsibility on actual legal matters, they are also given supervision and support to ensure they are on the right track.  Law clerks have regular contact with associates and partners regarding the cases they are working on and their projects.  Several times during the summer, law clerks are invited to informal lunch presentations by different partners to get tips and training on persuasive legal writing and deposition skills, among other topics.

NKA employs both school-year and summer-only law clerks and participated in Fall 2007 OCI at the following schools:

University of Minnesota Law School

William Mitchell College of Law

University of St. Thomas Law School

University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall)

University of Wisconsin Law School.

We are no longer accepting resumes for the 2008 Summer Associate Program.  Information regarding Fall 2008 OCI will be posted sometime in July 2008.
