Tutor.com – Potential Wage Violations

Contact us

We are investigating whether Tutor.com, which we understand contracts with schools, universities, libraries, families, and others to provide tutoring services, incorrectly classifies its tutors as “independent contractors” rather than employees. To the extent tutors do not qualify as true independent contractors under the law, they may be entitled to overtime premium pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. This means if you are or were misclassified as an independent contractor and worked overtime, you may be able to recover back pay.

We are currently seeking more information about the company’s pay practices.  If you are willing to answer a few quick questions to assist with our investigation or would like to discuss whether you might have a claim for overtime pay, please contact Dana Nelson directly at (612) 256-3222 or nelson@nka.com. There is no charge and the information you provide will be confidential.
