We are investigating whether, which we understand contracts with schools, universities, libraries, families, and others to provide tutoring services, incorrectly classifies its tutors as “independent contractors” rather than employees. To the extent tutors do not qualify as true independent contractors under the law, they may be entitled to overtime premium pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. This means if you are or were misclassified as an independent contractor and worked overtime, you may be able to recover back pay.
