Ninth Circuit Hears County of Los Angeles County's Appeal of Overtime Ruling for Home Health Workers

Nichols Kaster, PLLP Partner Matthew Helland argued to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals today on behalf of home health aides denied overtime pay.  The lower court ruled in favor of the workers, finding that the workers could pursue claims against the County for overtime hours they worked caring for the elderly, ill, and disabled.  The County seeks to avoid being held responsible for these payments, claiming it is immune from being sued by the workers.
