Nichols Kaster Attorneys Published in Continuing Legal Education Practice Guide

Nichols Kaster Partner E. Michelle Drake, along with staff attorney David J. Carrier, just published a chapter entitled “Financial and Criminal Background Checks” in the first edition of Job Applicant Screening: A Practice Guide (Minnesota CLE, 2014).  Ms. Drake will present her work as a panelist on a two hour special seminar on employment background screening at this year’s Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute, and she continues to develop the firm’s practice in the background check and consumer privacy arena. Ms. Drake is currently acting as lead counsel in a variety of consumer class actions alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act against both employers and consumer reporting agencies, and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to ensuring that employers respect the legal rights of all applicants and employees, including those with criminal backgrounds.
