Oil Field Solids Control Technician Represented by Nichols Kaster, PLLP Files Overtime Lawsuit Against McLachlan Drilling Company

On February 15, 2015, a former employee of McLachlan Drilling Company filed a lawsuit in the Western District Court of Pennsylvania seeking overtime pay. He brought the case on behalf of solids control technicians who worked for McLachlan Drilling Company at oil fields across the country. In the complaint, he alleges that McLachlan Drilling Company should have paid him 1.5 times his regular rate of pay for overtime hours worked and not just a flat day rate and per diem amount.

McLachlan Drilling Company is a manufacturer and servicer in the solids control industry and has operations throughout the United States.

Plaintiff’s attorney Michele Fisher stated, “solids control technicians typically work long hours at the oil fields (often on a two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off schedule with shifts of at least 13 hours each day) without receiving overtime compensation. We seek to get them paid the overtime premiums provided by law.”

Plaintiffs are represented by Michele R. Fisher and Ashley R. Thronson from Nichols Kaster, PLLP in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The case is entitled, Stroman v. McLachlan Drilling Company, No.: 2:05MC02025 (Western District of Pennsylvania).
