On March 6, 2025, the law firm of Nichols Kaster – together with Sirianni Youtz Spoonemore Hamburger PLLC, Kathleen Bliss Law PLLC, and the Center for Health Law & Policy Innovation at Harvard Law School – filed a lawsuit on behalf of a proposed class of people who have Cigna health insurance and require prescription hearing aids. The lawsuit alleges that Cigna violates the Affordable Care Act’s prohibition against disability discrimination by not covering hearings aids and related services.
