Our law firm is currently investigating whether individuals working for AlphaSights as Client Services Team Associates (“Associates”), and in other similarly related titles, were properly paid overtime when they worked over 40 hours in a work week. Specifically, we are investigating whether AlphaSights may have misclassified these workers as ineligible for overtime pay. We understand that AlphaSights pays Associates a salary and nothing additional for overtime hours worked. Under federal overtime laws, employees may be eligible to be paid overtime wages, even if they are paid a salary, depending on their primary job duties. Based on our understanding of the primary job duties performed by Associates we believe they may be misclassified as exempt, and should have been paid overtime.
