Nichols Kaster Partner Steven Andrew Smith will co-lead a breakout session entitled “Friedlander and Minnesota Whistleblower Claims – New Cases and Strategies.” (10:15 – 11:15 a.m. Note - this session will repeat at 4:00 p.m.)

Nichols Kaster Partners James H. Kaster & Matthew H. Morgan will lead a breakout session touching on their experiences conducting mock trials. They will share video clips and lessons from retaliation, harassment, and discrimination mock trials. “Learn Important Lessons Watching These Mock Trials.” (10:15 – 11:15 a.m.)

Topics will include damage valuation at the case assessment stage; damage calculations in demand letters; proving emotional distress damages at trial; the pros and cons of using experts; and how to present the issue of damages to a judge or jury. “What’s the Harm?
