Associate Lucas Kaster to Present on Forced Arbitration and Confronting Bias in the Legal Profession

Nichols Kaster Associate Lucas Kaster is presenting on two panels at the ABA Employment Rights & Responsibilities Committee’s Midwinter Meeting in Las Vegas, NV. On March 20, 2019, Lucas will participate in a panel titled, Arbitration in an Epic World, which will explore how the Supreme Court’s decision in Epic Systems Corp. v. Lewis has impacted the use of forced arbitration provisions and class and collective action waivers in employment agreements and whether arbitration is an effective means to address employment harms. On March 22, 2019 Lucas will participate second panel titled, Interrupting Bias in the Legal Profession: What Would You Do? This panel will focus on how explicit and implicit bias impacts the legal profession and how lawyers can address observed biases in colleagues, clients, opposing counsel, or the courts. Lucas is a member of Nichols Kaster’s Individual Practice team where he represents clients in retaliation, harassment, discrimination and civil rights violations.
