According to the announcement, every year Minnesota Lawyer names “Attorneys of the Year, honoring outstanding Minnesota lawyers, firms and legal teams” for their notable achievements. Palmer was on the legal team that won a landmark victory in the Minnesota Supreme Court involving transgender rights in Cooper v. USA Powerlifting. The Court unanimously held that the Minnesota Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination against transgender people in sports and reaffirmed multiple foundational principles of the Minnesota Human Rights Act (read here).
