Fair Housing and Tenants' Rights

FOR MORE INFORMATION CALL 612-256-3240 OR EMAIL OUR CLERK AT INTAKE@NKA.COM

People who are trying to rent or buy a place to live have rights. The Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, and family status when it comes to the sale, financing, or rental of housing. Other non-discrimination laws also make it illegal to discriminate against people when it comes to financing or entering into certain contracts. Unfortunately, housing discrimination is still a very real problem. Some landlords, lenders, or cities may have policies that disproportionately impact women or minority borrowers and make it hard for them to find a place to live. If you believe you have been a victim of illegal discrimination in housing or lending, please contact Civil Rights and Impact Litigation group. Our clerk is available at 612-256-3240 or intake@nka.com, and will be able to discuss your civil rights concerns and connect you with one of our civil rights attorneys.
