Why Nichols Kaster?

Our firm, throughout its forty plus years of practice, has developed a sterling reputation as a top employment and consumer plaintiff firm. We have repeatedly received a First Tier ranking as a Best Law Firm by U.S. News & World Report, a top plaintiffs’ employment law firm by Law360, and one of Minnesota’s Top 100 Law Firms by Minnesota Lawyer. Nichols Kaster has also held the honor of being identified as one of the top 50 Elite Trial Lawyers by The National Law Journal, and named to The National Law Journal’s Litigation Boutiques Hot List. It has been ranked one of the top ten busiest wage and hour firms in the country by Litigation Almanac 360.

Our History

Our history dates back to 1974 when Donald Nichols opened his private practice in Minneapolis. His representation set the example for others in the firm to follow: taking all possible measures to professionally represent his clients; taking risks against large and better-financed opponents; and not allowing the financial limitations of his clients to impede his zealous advocacy. This has been our way of practice, as the firm’s individual employment practice has evolved to include high stakes nationwide class actions on behalf of employees and consumers in employment, wage and hour, and 401(k) matters.

Our Culture

Our firm fosters a culture of teamwork, creative and novel litigation strategies, and doing whatever it takes to stand up to corporations that treat workers and consumers unfairly. We pride ourselves on the work we do and are humbled by the opportunities we have been given to be a voice for so many whose voices would otherwise go unheard. We are the voice for employees, for consumers, for you!
